Last night, at the Powell Branch Library, we celebrated Native American Heritage Month with a special guest visit from master storyteller Lyn Ford. Lyn shared traditional Native American stories, instruments, and songs with us. Children were able to participate actively in her stories and invited to sing along with her in some traditional songs and musical arrangements. At the end of her program, Lyn led children in a traditional round dance.

After our special storytime, children were invited to make some traditonal Native American crafts. They created dreamcatchers and God's eye weavings using feathers, beads, yarn and much more!
