Writers' Lab with Thurber House: Fables

This free 2-hour workshop is open to 4 - 6th grade students. Hear examples of fables from James Thurber, learn what makes a fable, and put your imagination to work composing your own!

All young writers and their families are then invited to a celebration party at Thurber Center to take part in arts and crafts, an open mic fable reading, and to receive a booklet of their library’s fables.

Columbus Creative Cooperative Self-Publishing Workshop

Learn the 5-steps to producing a professional self-published books. Brad Pauquette, an experienced publishing consultant and the CEO of ColumbusPublishing Lab, will explain the process that traditional publishers use to produce books, and how you can emulate those steps to produce a great book that readers will love. The seminar will take you from a finished manuscript to a self-published title available for sale from all major retailers, both as a paperback book and an e-book.
